ABCnews Features War – Celebrities vs. Paparazzi
1. Sometimes a girl’s got to pick and choose her battles. Lily Allen recently got into a scuffle with a photographer who allegedly drove into the back of her car in London March 12, 2009. The singer, who’s no stranger to trouble with the paparazzi, allegedly kicked and punched one photog and threw a water bottle at another.

2. A normally calm Brad Pitt was noticeably riled by paparazzi outside a screening room in Hollywood Nov. 10, 2008. Pitt, who was attending a private event, was so upset that the paps still managed to get into the event and snap his photo, that his bodyguards had to restrain him.

3. Rapper Kanye West was arrested at Los Angeles airport Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, on felony vandalism charges after allegedly sparring with members of the paparazzi. He and his bodyguard were released the next day after posting the $20,000 bail. West was charged for a misdemeanor rather than a felony. Video of the altercation shows the rapper, clad in a gray hooded sweatshirt, smashing what appears to be camera equipment on the ground. The next day, West wrote on his blog that he’s “cool with the paparazzi” but that the guy at LAX “wasn’t cool.”

4. “Dancing With the Stars” contestant Steve Guttenberg got a little worked up during his workout the other day when he was jogging through New York’s Upper West Side. A paparazzo began taking pictures of the “Police Academy” star, but the red-faced actor was apparently not too pleased with the photog’s attention. Guttenberg unleashed some angry facial expressions and fist-waving gestures for the photographer to snap up.

5. A paparazzo trying to photograph daddy-to-be Matthew McConaughey got a little more than he bargained for while near Paradise Cove in Malibu, Calif. Paparazzi gathered near McConaughey as he was surfing, hoping to snap some photos. A group of surfers went after one photographer, pictured here, who claims they later threw his camera in the ocean.

6. British starlet Sienna Miller has been spending a lot more time on this side of the pond since she began filming “G.I. Joe,” but it looks like she still hasn’t gotten used to the omnipresent paparazzi. The “Factory Girl” actress lashed out at a photographer who got too close to her while she was walking through Los Angeles International airport recently. After she screamed expletives and hurled her bag toward a photographer, airport security intervened.

7. Miller isn’t the only British beauty having trouble at the Los Angeles airport. Supermodel Kate Moss got a little feisty with aggressive paparazzi when she arrived at LAX March 29, 2008. While shouting at the photographers, Moss threw up her handbag to shield herself and daughter Lila Grace, who cowered behind her mother, from their lenses.

8. With a husband behind bars and continual speculation about drug addiction, troubled singer Amy Winehouse has a lot to deal with these days. Having a hound of photographers following her every move probably doesn’t make it much easier. On Thursday, Jan. 17, Winehouse didn’t take too kindly to the flashing bulbs that accompanied her walk out of jail, where she was visiting husband Blake Fielder Civil, who is being held on bribery charges. The British singer apparently got so riled up that police reportedly had to escort her back to her car.

9. Talk about fast food. Actor Ryan Philippe was quick to launch a burger at a photographer who was snapping the “Flags of Our Fathers” actor outside a fast-food restaurant in Santa Monica, Calif., March 13, 2007. Perhaps Philippe was feeling a bit feisty, being that it was shortly after his divorce from actress Reese Witherspoon.

10. Hugh Grant was arrested April 24, 2007, and questioned by police after a photographer accused the actor of attacking him with a tub of baked beans outside his London home. The photographer said Grant abused and kicked him before lobbing the beans. The actor posted bail and is expected to return to court in May.

It is not avoidable for celebrities to get pissed off with paparazzis because sometimes they need to be left alone from cameras specially when not at work, doing shows or shooting movies, but it is not also mean that they can bash people if they are pissed off. But to paparazzi’s maybe sometimes they need to back off from them when they can sense that their subjects are not in good mood.
